Vasco da Gama football club have initiated talks to sign Jiangsu Suning attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira, according to reports in Brazilian media.
Teixeira is currently on vacation here and had met with Alvaro Miranda, the son of Vasco president Eurico Miranda, during the week to discuss a possible move, Gazeta Esportiva reported on Friday, reports Xinhua.
The 26-year-old began his career at Vasco before his 2009 move to Shakhtar Donetsk.
In February, he joined Jiangsu Suning for a reported fee of approx $52.26 million euros.
Teixeira made 42 appearances across all competitions for the Chinese Super League club in 2016 and scored 19 goals.
