Victoria Beckham was tipped to be designing a kit for her footballer husband David's Miami soccer team, but not anymore. She is said to have been beaten by sportswear giant Adidas.

"It has surprised many in Miami that he would not ask his wife to design the kit. Not only would it be the most stylish kit ever, but it would help sales," dailystar.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

David is said to be in talks with Adidas, which wants to provide his team's logo, kit and accessories.

He has plugged several products for the company since 2003, when he signed up to endorse them.

"They are keen to work with him, as they have had such huge success over the past two decades. Knowing David, he will show Victoria and ask for her input, but they will not be partners on this project," the source said.

David has not yet announced what his side will be called, with rumoured options including Miami Vice and Miami Current.

Meanwhile, Victoria plans to expand her fashion business with new ranges of footwear and menswear. She is also open new headquarters in Chelsea, New York.
