Intolerance, violence and disillusionment against the establishment is on the rise among the young globally, Nobel Peace Price recipient Kailash Satyarthi said here on Saturday.
"I see that intolerance, violence, frustration and disillusionment against the establishment is increasing among the young people globally. On the other hand, they are also full of energy and enthusiasm. But their power is not harnessed," he said.
He announced his new campaign '100 million for 100 million' for children.
"The idea of the campaign is that 100 million children (10 crore) should become the voices, spokespersons and changemakers. It would be an online and offline campaign," Satyarthi said.
Dubbing it his "largest and most ambitious" initiative, he said the campaign would be launched by the end of this year. It would address 200 million children simultaneously, he said.
"Young children will have easy access to social media and can petition when they see anything wrong happening to children in the rest of the world. They will inculcate values of global citizenship," he said.
When quizzed on the intolerance debate, he declined to comment on specific incidents.
However, he noted that "three enemies -- fear, apathy and intolerance -- are seriously affecting human life today globally".
He said his campaign would help address these "three enemies" by harnessing children's creativity and their constructive side.
