Bangladeshi cricket coach Chandika Hathurusingha has stuck to his reported stance that he wanted Jubair Hossain to be a part of the World Cup squad.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president had revealed the coach's wish, reports the Daily Star.

Hathurusingha stated Wednesday in Australian conditions he would have loved to have a leg spinner, preferably Hossain, as they were really very effective on such surfaces.

"I would love to have Jubair in the team because leg-spinners in Australia are very, very effective. From my experience in Australia in the past four years, I have seen that every state team tries to get a leg-spinner because they are wicket-takers in those conditions," Hathurusingha said.

The coach also confirmed Hossain was part of their plans as he gave them an attacking option but now he has to reconstruct his strategies.

"It's true that I was asking for him and he was in our plans as an attacking option to get us wickets, but in the end he is not in and we will try to do what we can with the players we have," he added.
