A Rs.130-crore war heroes' memorial-cum-museum in Amritsar would be dedicated to the nation Aug 15 on the occasion of India's 69th Independence Day, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said Monday.
"This novel project is coming up in the holy city at a cost of Rs.130 crore. It will showcase the enormous contribution of brave Punjabi warriors and soldiers in safeguarding the integrity of our motherland," Badal said after a meeting on the project here.
Punjab has faced the brunt of most attacks from ancient and medieval to modern times.
Badal said he had recently met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to seek his cooperation for getting rare artefacts, war equipment and memorabilia to be exhibited in the museum.
