Mumbai's premier batsman Wasim Jaffer has suffered an injury and has been ruled out for both the upcoming Ranji trophy matches against Railways and Uttar Pradesh.
Jaffer fractured his right index finger while attempting a catch during Mumbai's six-wicket loss against Jammu and Kashmir.
He could also miss the fourth league game against Bengal, to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata from December 28.
The experienced duo of Hiken Shah and Kshemal Waingankar have been called in for the next two encounters, after Dhawal Kulkarni received a call by the Indian team to replace an injured Bhuwaneshwar Kumar in the ongoing Australian test series.
The selectors have also brought in Sushant Marathe as a back-up wicket-keeper-batsman in place of left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla.
