Argentina football team captain Lionel Messi has hailed his side's Copa America quarter-final triumph over Colombia as their best performance in the tournament so far.
Argentina defeated Colombia 5-4 in a dramatic penalty shootout at the Estadio Sausalito here on Friday to book a place in the semi-finals.
"We played our best match of the Copa America," Messi was quoted as saying by goal.com.
The talismanic forward who plays for Barcelona also said his side was lucky to win on spot-kicks.
"We created a lot of chances? Unfortunately we were not able to get a goal and we were eventually lucky to win on penalties," he said.
Veteran striker Carlos Tevez hit the winning kick to take his side to the semi-finals, where they will come up against either Brazil or Paraguay.
