A 16-meter whale was found dead with an advanced state of decay on the Lobito coast of Angola possibly after collision with large ships shuttling in the region.

The sea mammal was washed ashore by waves and was spotted by fishermen in early Friday, Xinhua reported.

The body was shedding bad smell liquids and blood that upset the local population, which prompted the authorities to remove and burry it to avoid health threats.

This is the third such occurrence after two previous cases in 2000.
