The first show on the third day of ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Spring Summer 2014 saw denims presented in innovative ways on the ramp.
Husband-wife designer duo Niket and Jainee used raw denim to create their new line. Silk and chanderi were also used for basic construct.
"We have used shades of blue. Royal blue and turquoise are dominating colours with white. For the men's line, we have worked on the collars. There are also denim trousers with abstract prints," Niket told IANS.
Model Urvashi Rautela, who will make her acting debut with Sunny Deol in "Singh Saab The Great", closed their show as the showstopper.
She wore a denim gown with a high slit in the centre. There was net layering too.
"I think it's perfect for the red carpet. It's fresh and modern and it defines me," said Urvashi praising the outfit.
Next in the line was designer Pratima Pandey's creations and here too blue and white combination continued to dominate the runway.
"The two sisters' collection shows relationship between white and indigo. It's inspired by blue pottery. There is easiness in the silhouettes and the range celebrates womanhood," Pratima told reporters after her show.
The kurtas and jumpsuits should surely be summer wardrobe staple.
Fashion designer Rajdeep Ranawat joined hands with Geetanjali for apparel and accessories ranges that saw abundant use of Swarovski.
Flowing garments like dresses, saris and skirts in colours such as yellow, pink and orange with Swarovski elements complimented sequined bird inspired clutches. The orchid and bird headbands were interesting too.
