Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's hair stylist Mark Townsend claims the twins like to break the rules when it comes to their locks.

The stylish siblings, who are known for their tousled tresses, like to make up their own rules when it comes to hair styles and cuts, reports contactmusic.com.

"They have such amazing style, it is so inspiring. And it so personal. They don't follow trends - they are usually setting them - so they do what works best for them, what looks best on them and it's the same with their hair," he told TheCoveteur.com.

Townsend also says that the sisters believes in the power of dry shampoo to achieve their laid back look.

"They are blessed with having great texture and natural wave in their hair so we don't have to spend a lot of time to get that perfectly tousled look. The biggest secret is the dry shampoo - it gives the hair such amazing texture," he said.
