The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday said that it will expose the "real anti-Delhi face of the BJP" in the coming Lok Sabha elections by presenting the facts and lies of the Central government before the public.
The party in a statement said that it will distribute all the previous manifestoes of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on full statehood to Delhi and will tell the voters that the Modi-Shah duo has no respect even for the founding fathers of their own party.
"AAP will expose the real anti-Delhi face of the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections by placing before the residents of the national capital the lies and the deceits of the BJP-led Central government during last five years with the sole intention of causing injustice to Delhi," it said.
The party will also launch a full-scale struggle to tell the people of Delhi that the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo's BJP has no respect even for the founding fathers of their own party as they have ruthlessly shattered the dream of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani of granting full statehood to Delhi.
"AAP will take to the people all the manifestoes of the BJP released in previous election including the latest Delhi specific manifesto for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, in which the BJP had promised (full) statehood for Delhi if it was voted to power.
"Delhi voters gave them all seven Lok Sabha seats in 2014 only to be deceived by the Modi-Shah duo which does not like Delhi at all," it said.
The AAP will also take door-to-door the May 2015 notification of the Modi government, which snatched away the legal powers of the elected Delhi government, it said.
"This illegal and unjustified notification was issued by the Modi government barely three months after people of Delhi had elected their state government with highest ever electoral mandate in the history of independent India, in February 2015. Through this notification, the Modi government illegally amended the Constitution," the party added.
"Through this notification, the Modi government snatched Services and the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) from the elected Delhi government. The Constitution of India had permitted Centre's control only on Land, Police and Public Order in Delhi," it said.
