The Consumer Care and Lighting business of Wipro Enterprises entered into an agreement with the US-based smart building solutions' provider Igor to offer intelligent lighting and smart building devices in the Indian market, said the privately held company here on Wednesday.
"The agreement enables our division to sell Igor lighting fixtures globally with local partners and use its technology for the power-over-ethernet (PoE) connected lighting product line," said the city-based Wipro czar Azim Premji-owned company in a statement here.
As a pioneer in smart lighting products in the country, Wipro arm provides lighting solutions for indoor and outdoor across industry verticals, including retail, commercial offices and healthcare.
The Nexos Internet of Things (IoT) smart building platform of Igor has been designed to future proof buildings.
"Igor's integrated intelligent lighting application will benefit our customers as it is based on IoT smart buildings PoE-based platform," said the statement.
The Iowa state-based Igor's IoT smart building technology, recognised as a 'disruptor' by global networking products major Cisco, has been posting triple-digit growth in the US and 24 international markets the world over.
Igor's devices were installed in many locations from skyscrapers in Manhattan, New York City, to hotels in Europe, schools and residential buildings across the country.
"Partnership with Igor will ensure we offer PoE solutions to our customers, who have benefited from our collaborations with international lighting technology firms," said Wipro commercial lighting business head Anuj Dhir on the occasion.
According to Igor Chief Executive Steven L'Heureux, Wipro's in-depth lighting knowledge and his company's PoE software and hardware will make their offerings best- in-class.
"With computability and complementary strengths, we share a robust pipeline and anticipate making several project announcements in 2019," claimed L'Heureux in the statement.
