VfL Wolfsburg's attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been voted as the best footballer of the Bundesliga 2014-2015 season, following a survey by the German sports magazine Kicker on Monday.
As many as 183 Bundesliga professionals took part in the survey and lifted the Belgian international with 52.2 percent of the votes on the first place, reports Xinhua.
The 23-year-old from is a key player of the "Wolves", who helped the club to finish on the second place, behind giants Bayern Munich, and to clinch the German Cup with a 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the final. De Bruyne provided 20 assists and scored 10 goals this season of Germany's premier competition.
As a consequence, De Bruyne ousted Bayern midfielder Arjen Robben, who won the survey last season, on the second place. The Dutchman earned 23.5 percent of the votes, and Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi came third with 6.6 percent.
The prize for the best coach of the season went to Borussia Monchengladbach's coach Lucien Favre, who guided his "Foals" into the European Champions League group stage for the first time.
Augsburg's coach Markus Weinzierl finished on second with 24.6 percent after completing a stunner season with the "Fuggerstaedter", who rewarded themselves with a ticket for the Europa League.
Hamburger SV's relegation hero coach Burno Labbadia finished up on the third place with 10.9 percent after helping the "HSV" to avoid the club's first ever relegation into the second division.
