Imphal, May 9 (IANS/AKI) Women activists in Manipur are demanding drastic punishment to a police sub-inspector who allegedly attacked a woman at a torchlight rally here, fracturing her leg and hand.
Angry women have called a blockade at Uripok in Imphal West District for 24 hours beginning from Monday night. The injured woman, Taruni, is from this area.
One activist said that the police officer "brutally attacked the woman activist" on Sunday night. "We shall not rest till he is given a befitting punishment."
