A woman was apprehended with fake Indian currency notes (FICN) totalling a face value in excess of Rs.10 lakh. The notes were recovered from her house near the Indo-Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Malda district, the BSF said Monday.
Acting on intelligence inputs, Border Security Force (BSF) troopers Sunday night raided the house near the Churiantpur border outpost of the district.
"Upon search of the house, FICN of the face value of Rs.10,94,000 and 30 bottles of liquor were seized. The apprehended lady and the FICNs have been handed over to the local police for further investigation," said a BSF officer.
The South Bengal Frontier of the BSF has seized more than Rs.1,20,12,500 of FICN in the current year.
