India's Arantxa Sanchis continued on her winning streak in the preliminary league of the IBSF World snooker championship here Sunday when she defeated Polish player Dalia Alska 3-0 for her fourth win.
So far, Sanchis, the 23-year old from Pune, has lost only two frames that put her on top in Group E with an excellent chance to progress to the knock-out stage.
Another Indian player Chitra Magimairajan managed to register her first win of the tournament after three outings when she defeated Nastya Toumilovitch of Belarus 3-0 to finally come out of a losing rut.
However, there were some disappointments for India when Varsha Sanjeev and Neena Praveen lost their matches. Varsha went down to former World champion Ng On Yee of Hong Kong 1-3 while Amornrat Uamduang of Thailand had no problem in defeating Neena 3-0.
Amornrat produced two breaks of 56 and 59 points in first two frames to shock Neena. By the time Neena could recover, it was already time to shake hands.
There were no Indian casualties in the Men's section as all three Indian players Manan Chandra, Brijesh Damani and Shahbaaz Adil Khan won their respective matches comfortably.
Chandra has won all his three matches while Damani and Khan have lost one in four outings in their respective Groups.
In the Masters category, Syed Saleem from India once again failed to win the decider frame and he lost to Bernard Ballestra of France 2-3 in a tightly contested match. However, Nigel Lazar registered a good win Peter Bertens of Netherlands 3-0.
