CCI overdose

The advent of the Competition Commission of India adds yet another CCI to the multitude that exist in India: Cotton Corporation of India, Cement Corporation of India, Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, Constitution Club of India, Cricket Club of India… .Yet, the establishment thinks nothing of using the initials as the abbreviation for the competition regulator instead of CompCom, the terms some other countries use. The Competition Appellate Tribunal in India has adopted the abbreviation COMPAT because CAT is the more popular abbreviation for the Central Administration Tribunal.
