Cutting out the sound

Anti-noise pollution activists usually lament the lack of action by regulatory authorities to check pollutants such as honking. However, it seems the harmful effects of noise have caught up with the long arm of the law enforcers. A senior police official recently told scribes that he had to install sound-proof windows to be able to get any work done at his office, which is on a busy street in south Mumbai.
