DMK may lose out on Deputy Speaker's post

After thwarting all pressure tactics of the DMK to get more berths in the Cabinet, the Congress is likely to reject the latest demand of the DMK — to give TR Baalu the Deputy Speaker’s post. While the post had been allotted to an ally party in the last few governments, Congress managers feel it is better to follow the convention. The Congress is likely to give the post to the BJP. Sumitra Mahajan, the MP from Indore, is the front-runner for the post.
