Actor Anupam Kher, the Bharatiya Janata Party's self-appointed representative in the cacophonous "nationalism" and "intolerance" debates, added a new twist to the tale by claiming that the Congress was the most tolerant party in the country, because it was tolerating Rahul Gandhi. Of course, he did not name the Congress vice-president; he just said: "The Congress is tolerating a person who they want to project as the PM of this country and can't even say to each other that what they are doing is wrong." Kher had earlier accused the Opposition of "marketing" the "intolerance debate" because it lacked issues and was unable to stomach its loss in the Lok Sabha polls two years ago.
