The Naxal strike in Dantewada in Chhattisgarh that killed more than 70 CRPF personnel is a consequence of total intelligence failure on the part of the police force.
The Dantewada attack, once again, brings to fore the fact that our security personnel cannot even defend themselves. Growing insurgency is nothing but a result of repeated failures of the states and the Centre to firm up the country’s security system.
The Centre should keep tabs on the allocation of funds for the police makeover and security infrastructure, with due stress on providing state of the art technologies to combat the menace head on.
