The Tiger Woods mistress scandal has impacted more than just the image of the world’s top golfer. Now it seems retailers are slashing prices of Woods merchandise and dumping memorabilia, a survey by a The Daily Beast reporter says. For instance, a Tiger Woods action figure from Toys R Us in California and Manhattan is now available for $9.98 compared to its sticker price of $15.99.
Meanwhile, the article adds, a collector of Tiger Woods cards has put his entire collection — originally valued at more than six figures — on the market at “come-as-you-will prices”. The exception to this fire sale, however, could be the club that Elin Nordegren used to break the back window of Tiger’s Cadillac Escalade. The head of a prominent sports memorabilia auction house estimates that that could fetch $250,000, making it the world’s most valuable golf club.
