The Delhi Metro has made special arrangements for BJP leader Narendra Modi's rally here Sunday, as an estimated 50,000 people would be using the facility to reach the venue, officials said.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would be pressing into service extra trains and feeder buses, issuing return tickets and increasing the frequency of all trains going towards Rohini from the present five minutes to three minutes.

"Normally on Sundays, the Delhi Metro does not operate its full fleet due to fewer footfalls but tomorrow (Sunday) all the 26 trains on the Red Line would be running," said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijender Gupta after meeting DMRC managing director Mangu Singh.

"Confirming this, a DMRC official added: "We are taking all the necessary steps for crowd management."

"For the first time the DMRC will be issuing return tickets to people in groups to prevent long queues at ticket counters. The group return tickets can be bought at any station," said Gupta who is in-charge of the rally's preparations.

In addition, extra feeder buses will ply between Rohini West Metro station and the nearby Japanese Park, where the rally is scheduled to take place.

According to the BJP leader, over 50,000 people are expected to take the metro to reach the venue.

The Delhi BJP is hoping to resurrect its fortunes ahead of the assembly polls in November with the first-ever public rally of their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Delhi.

The party is expecting a crowd of over five lakh people at the rally highlighting corruption, price rise and law and order under the Congress rule in Delhi.

The BJP will also announce the names of its candidates for the assembly elections on the occasion.
