Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley on Tuesday termed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters' protest outside his residence as mere political gimmickry.
A day after the AAP had accused some top BJP leaders of attempting to destabilise the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi, its supporters staged a protest outside Jaitley's residence.
Jaitley came out of his house and reiterated what he had tweeted, accusing the AAP of practicing a politics of falsehood.
Criticizing the presence of AAP supporters', Jaitley said: "Those who can't govern, they use such gimmicks (demonstrations and protests), it is a politics of falsehood and fraud," he said.
The protests come after the BJP leader had in a tweet rubbished the claims of AAP made yesterday in which the party blamed Jaitley, along with other BJP leaders Narendra Modi and Harsh Vardhan of trying to allure AAP candidates with money and position to break away from Kejriwal.
"The BJP is scared of the AAP's rising popularity. Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitley and Harshvardhan are conspiring to bring down the Delhi Government," AAP leader Sanjay Singh had claimed at a press conference.
AAP had also accused the BJP of acting on behalf of power discoms. AAP had also said that it has information on Jaitley making attempts to defame the Delhi Government.
AAP MLA from Kasturba Nagar, Madanlal, whose name was doing the rounds in the media for secretly meeting expelled party MLA Vinod Kumar Binny, JD(U) MLA Shoaib Iqbal, SAD MLA Maninder Singh Sirsa, said that he was offered huge amount to support the BJP in forming the government.
He alleged that a person close to Modi had called him and promised him chief ministership, if he gets nine people to join the BJP.
