Says Modi was only replicating what he had propounded in the 1990s during his term as Uttar Pradesh CM

Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav today charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with copying his concept about sanitation and toilets.

Continuing with his verbal tirade against the PM, Yadav claimed Modi was only replicating what the latter had propounded in the 1990s during his term as the Uttar Pradesh chief minister.

He said now ministers were adopting villages, but he had already floated such a scheme during the 1990s.

Taking swipe at Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' (Clean India Campaign), Yadav said poverty was the main cause of dirtiness and filth. "The problem of filth would get solved automatically once poverty was tackled."

Yadav said if all the ministers, legislators, parliamentarians, high administrative and police officials adopted their native villages for development then much of the backwardness would go.

He said UP was abundant in natural resources and endowed with fertile Gangetic plains. "Yet, we are backward because we politicians have failed in our duty," Yadav underlined.

Meanwhile, he supported Modi for trying to improve relations with the foreign countries trough overseas trips.
