Pakistan Army has reportedly rejected Indian army chief's allegation of ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LOC).

Deeming the accusations as "regrettable", spokesman for the Pakistan Army said that such statements and allegations are counterproductive.

Pakistani Major General Asim Bajwa said that the Pakistan Army respects the ceasefire agreement in letter and spirit, Dawn.com reported.

The spokesman added that the situation along the border line has improved, following a meeting that was held between Director Generals Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, on Dec 24 last year.

The Indian Army Chief General Bikram Singh warned Pakistan against border violation, threatening Pakistan of a counter-strike if it failed to abide by the ceasefire agreement.

In his statement, Gen Singh said that attempts are on to ensure ceasefire agreements are adhered to by both sides.

However, the General confirmed that incidents of border violations have reduced considerably post the meeting of the DGMOs of the two countries.
