Around 300 protestors from the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were detained by Delhi Police Tuesday while demonstrating outside Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's residence here, a police official said.
The protestors were demanding action against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, whom the BJP has been accused of indulging in corruption.
The protest continued for almost two hours and Delhi Police had to use water canons to disperse the protestors.
"The protestors refused to disperse, so we were forced to use water cannons on them," an official of Delhi Police told IANS.
