Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi arrived here Wednesday morning on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
He will address a rally of Congress 'sarpanchs' (village heads) at M.A. Stadium.
He is also scheduled to hold a luncheon interaction with representatives of Jammu Chambers of Commerce and Industry at Jammu Club Wednesday afternoon.
Congress general secretary Ambika Soni, Union Minister Jairam Ramesh and party press in-charge Ajay Makhan are accompanying him. On his arrival, he drove to the Congress headquarters in Shaheedi Chowk for a meeting with the party's state leadership.
The Congress vice president will reach Srinagar Wednesday evening.
He will inaugurate a controlled-atmosphere fruit storage facility in south Kashmir's Pulwama district and will address a women's self-help initiative in central Badgam district Thursday.
