This is Shah's second visit to the city after assuming the top post.

The meeting between Shah and top RSS leaders has assumed significance in the wake of the recent BJP-Peoples Democratic party (PDP) government formation headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in Jammu and Kashmir and also due to the controversial remarks made by him after the swearing-in ceremony in which Sayeed credited terror groups and Pakistan for peaceful elections in the state. Though the government has distanced itself from Sayeed's remarks, bickering is on in the party, sources close to the RSS said.

Shah is also likely to discuss the land Bill, which has hit a wall in the Rajya Sabha.
