At an emergent meeting of the association yesterday, it was decided to meet the Chief Minister and seek his intervention on the issue.
The officers were of the view that the fresh examination for promotion to IAS would raise a question mark on state civil service examination through which they are selected.

Till now, the selection of state services officers into the three All India Services (IAS, IPS and IFoS) was being done on the basis of review of their seniority and Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs).
The Ministry of Personnel recently changed the rules for promotion from state services.
