SHCIL accredited with ISO/IEC 27001:2005 for its Data Centre Operations

Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd (SHCIL) has been conferred with the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2005  certification for “Data Centre and its Operations” by TUV-NORD, Germany.

ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing and improving a documented Information Security Management System within the context of the organization’s overall business risks. It specifies requirements for the implementation of security controls customized to the needs of individual organizations or parts thereof.

By achieving this certification, it is underlined that SHCIL meets the requirements of the security standard by implementing security controls in their infrastructure, network, applications and database systems. ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for SHCIL’s Data Centre and its Operations is an assurance to customers and other stakeholders that SHCIL has benchmarked itself with the highest standards of security and due diligence in their IT systems.

This certification would help SHCIL to make its processes more effective and to provide a strong defense against risks to business assets, customer data and information security. It would also facilitate improving SHCIL’s processes as an on-going activity.
