Sonata Software appoints Gyana Pattnaik as Head - Open Source, Testing and New Technologies

Reinforces its focus on new and existing technology areas to drive business growth

Sonata Software, a leading IT consulting and software services provider, today announced the appointment of Mr. Gyana Pattnaik as Head - Open Source, Testing and New Technologies. In this role, Gyana will be responsible for building internal capabilities and will also work closely with a team of technology experts at Sonata to drive the company’s initiatives in the areas of Mobility and Cloud Computing.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. B. Ramaswamy, President and Managing Director, Sonata Software Limited said, “We are delighted to have Gyana on board. His in-depth industry knowledge and expertise in multiple technologies will add immense value to Sonata’s overall technology road map and marketing strategy. Gyana brings with him more than 23 years of industry experience. Prior to Sonata, he was heading the Embedded and Mobility Business Unit in Persistent Systems. In his earlier stints, Gyana has held senior positions at Aperto Networks, Aztecsoft, Proxim Wireless and Lucent Technologies. He brings with him an innate understanding of the services and technology industry and significant expertise of managing and building new technology businesses particularly in the mobility and wireless space.

On his appointment, Mr. Gyana Pattnaik stated, “I am excited to join the leadership team at Sonata. Gyana holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
