Transport Corporation of India Ltd., India’s leading integrated supply chain and logistics solutions provider, today announced its financial results for the Quarter ended December 31, 2009. The company’s total revenue for Q3 registered a growth of 18.43% rising to Rs. 381.32 Crores from Rs. 321.98 Crores in the same period last year. Also the PBT (After Exceptional Items) rose by 93.60% i.e. Rs. 16.63 Crores from Rs. 8.59 Crores in the same period last year.
The company’s total revenue for the nine months ending December 31, 2009, rose by 7.61% to Rs. 1052.17 Cr. from Rs. 977.75 Cr. in the same period last year. The company’s PAT rose by 78%, to Rs.30.44 Cr. from Rs.17.12 Cr. in the same period last year.
Keeping in view the strong growth in profitability, the Board of Directors has decided to make payment of Interim Dividend to the Shareholders @ 20% whose names appear on the Register of Members on RECORD DATE i.e. 4th February 2010.
Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr D P Agarwal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director TCI said, “Our robust growth is on account of the stabilizing market and demand coming in from the automobile sector. Due to an early Diwali and onset of the festive season, inventory built-up triggered and further facilitated growth of several sectors.”
He further added, “The growth in overall business and profitability has been in line with our expectations. Going forward, we are anticipating a 10-15% increase in revenues and about 20-30% increase in our profit margins for the current full financial year.”
