Tejas Networks Ltd., a leader in next-generation optical networking products, announced today that they have won the “Innovative Indigenous Telecom Equipment Company Award” given by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO). The award was presented by Dr. Rahul Khullar, Commerce Secretary Government of India. FIEO Awards seek to recognize companies that have brought in innovation and promoted efficiency in communications technology. FIEO is the apex Trade Promotion Organization of the Govt. of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rahul Khullar said that, thus far the Indian telecom equipment industry had not kept pace with the growing domestic demand from telecom operators, which led to a dependence on imports. He recognized the impact made by Tejas Networks as a leading telecom product company from India in this context.
