Free saplings distributed to employees and various activities held to raise awareness

Yodlee Inc., the premium banking solutions provider headquartered in the United States with operations in India celebrated the world environment day with much gusto in the Bangalore campus of the organization.

Keeping with Yodlee’s commitment towards saving the environment, the celebrations were part of the month long “Yodlee Go Green” campaign which started on May 17, 2010 aimed at building awareness among Yodlee employees and implementing the beginnings of a companywide green movement. During the month long campaign, Saplings were distributed for free to participants; Yodlee awarded Mr. and Miss Green Earth titles to two employees, and began a pledge drive for the funding of future company programs.

“Conservation of the environment is a cause we all need to take a proactive stand on and contribute towards” said Mr. R Subramaniam, vice president and managing director, Yodlee India. “Yodlee firmly believes that commitment towards saving the environment begins with each individual. The concept for the Yodlee Go Green campaign stemmed form the immense need for educational awareness among our community. We saw it as a prime opportunity to incentivize action.”

The campaign was started off through various internal activities aimed at conserving energy, and researching alternative forms of energy, saving water, natural resources and participating in a digital switch, which produced less paper usage and physical waste.

Additional activities at Yodlee have included the creation of a Voluntary Environment Group, “Go Green” events for the children of Yodlee employees, an official car pooling program, and a weekly newsletter discussing ways Yodlee employees can participate, and save money by going green. Creating a collaboration site for car pooling and weekly e-mailers on tips and alerts on how to go Green.
