"Chavan should lead an all-party delegation to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and ask for an assistance from the Centre, since the drought situation in the state is severe," Athawale told reporters here.
Athawale earlier held a meeting with the BJP national president Nitin Gadkari in the city to demand that his party (RPI), which is a part of the Shiv Sena-BJP combine, which is popularly known as the 'Shivshakti-Bhimshakti' alliance, should be given tickets for four to five seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
He further said that in order to get the Election Commission's recognition for the RPI, BJP should ensure that his party wins at least two of these seats.
Athawale, who had already expressed his wish to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Ramtek in Nagpur, which is a reserved seat, spoke on the issue again.
