ransacked the Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) office in Jamalpur area to protest a burnt transformer not being replaced in Fulka village, a police officer said.

Hundreds of villagers stormed the BSEB office and not finding the SDO and the Junior Engineer to hear their grievances, ransacked the office and damaged property, Jamalpur police station's Officer In-Charge (OIC) Rajesh Saran said.

The police rushed to the spot and dispersed the villagers, he said.

The villagers alleged that BSEB officials failed to replace a transformer to supply electricity to houses even three years after the earlier one burnt out due to mechanical problems.
