The militant was killed in exchange of fire, military spokesperson Mohamed Samir today said.
Army has also arrested 45 militants, destroyed 2 tunnels, 11 vehicles and 33 motorcycles used by the militants in their attacks against police and army personnel, he said.
The army has carried out raids in North Sinai, Ismailia, Dakahlia, Menya and Damietta governorates in the last few days.
North Sinai has witnessed many violent attacks by militants since the January, 2011 Egyptian Revolution that toppled long-time dictator Hosni Mubarak.
The military has launched security campaigns in the area, arrested suspects and demolished houses that belong to terrorists, including those facilitating tunnels leading to the Gaza Strip.
