"The wardens have been suspended as per the preliminary enquiry on the jail breakout incident of August 24 last," SP (Prison) Michi Paku informed here.
He also admitted that the incident happened due to security lapse and negligence of staff on duty.
Further investigations are on and departmental enquiry is being conducted and actions would be taken accordingly, Paku said and added that the two among the suspended wardens are officers.
Meanwhile, search are on for tracing and nabbing the escaped inmates.
According to police, the escaped prisoners were seen on a bike in the early hours of Aug 24 near Bangalmara under Laluk police station in Assam
