10 peacocks found dead near farm

At least 10 peacocks died of suspected poisoning near a farm in Annur in the district today, police said.
Peacocks, which are in large numbers in the area, frequent farms and live on vegetables and chillies cultivated there.
Some of them were found dead near a farm, where chilly is grown, police said.
It is suspected that the owner of the farm might have laced the chilly with poison to keep the birds away, they said.
