'Expedite approval of intl flight schedules from Bhub airport'

The process of approval of international flight schedules from the Biju Patnaik airport with the Ministry of Civil Aviation should be expedited, Odisha Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra said today.
With some airlines giving flight schedules for operating international flights from the airport, Mohapatra at the meeting here advised Director of Bhubaneswar Airport Sharad Kumar to speed up the process of approval by the Civil Aviation Ministry.
Fly Dubai and Air Asia have given their schedules for operating international flights from Bhubaneswar, official sources said.
Fly Dubai would operate from Bhubaneswar to Dubai and Air Asia from Bhubaneswar to Kualalumpur, they said.

Airport Director Sharad Kumar said the Odisha government was providing manpower required for health, emigration, customs, plant and quarantine services.
Issues relating to deployment of government officers and training of personnel were discussed at the meeting.
It was decided that a week's training would be provided this month to the airport personnel in Kolkata.
The officials also decided to carry out a dry run of international flight operations in the first week of March, sources said.
