With some airlines giving flight schedules for operating international flights from the airport, Mohapatra at the meeting here advised Director of Bhubaneswar Airport Sharad Kumar to speed up the process of approval by the Civil Aviation Ministry.
Fly Dubai and Air Asia have given their schedules for operating international flights from Bhubaneswar, official sources said.
Fly Dubai would operate from Bhubaneswar to Dubai and Air Asia from Bhubaneswar to Kualalumpur, they said.
Issues relating to deployment of government officers and training of personnel were discussed at the meeting.
It was decided that a week's training would be provided this month to the airport personnel in Kolkata.
The officials also decided to carry out a dry run of international flight operations in the first week of March, sources said.
