100 thefts in 11 months: gang nabbed

A gang of four thieves, who claimed to have made over a 100 burglaries within a span of 11 months, was arrested today.
Shahzad, 'the mastermind', Mohsin, Usman, and Jai Bhagwan alias Soni, who runs a jewelry shop at Mussoorie town of Ghaziabad were arrested by the Kavi Nagar police here, SP (City) Shiv Hari Meena said.
The four have confessed to committing more than 100 thefts within a span of 11 months, he said, adding that they are drug addicts and used to consume pills before targeting locked houses.
During their interrogation they have confessed to have committed 10 major thefts in October in many posh localities of city, Meena said.

Equipments used to break open houses and stolen ornaments worth several lakhs and cash were recovered from the four.
