"The South Asian Games will be held from January 10 to 22 in Guwahati and Shillong," Meghalaya sports secretary F R Kharkongor said, adding the state will host seven disciplines, including archery, boxing, wushu, taekwondo, table tennis and badminton and Assam would host 13 other disciplines.
Preparation for the Games has already begun in Meghalaya, Kharkongor said.
The SAG would see participation of around 2,500 athletes from the eight member-countries -- Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
