Fourteen centrally protected monuments are being used for defence and other works, Union Minister of Culture Prahlad Singh Patel informed Lok Sabha on Monday.
These monuments include Agra Fort in Uttar Pradesh, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Fort at Phillaur in Punjab and six places in Tamil Nadu's Fort St. George/Fort Tondiarpet, Patel said in a written reply to a question in the House.
Gol-Gumbaz Complex in Karnataka; Jod-Gumbaz and Royal Hamam Building at Bidar Fort in Karnataka; Hirakot Fort at Agarkot Tal-Alibag and Balapur Fort in Maharashtra and Vice Regal Lodge in Shimla are also among these monuments, he said.
