The spurious ghee, a mixture of various edible oils, was being sold from a government-run canteen in sealed packets with ISO certified stamping.
According to the head of FDA'a local unit, a Moradabad-based firm supplied these sealed packets to government-run canteens in many districts of western Uttar Pradesh.
The mixture of various edible oils, costing less than Rs 100 per litre, was being sold for Rs 190 per litre.
The person manning the canteen is absconding, Chief Food Inspector Sanjay Pandey said, adding that spurious ghee was being sold from the canteen for years.
