Badal launched a blistering attack on the Congress-lead UPA and said "it has shattered all records of corruption".

Addressing election rallies at Nalagrh, Haroli and Una he asked the electorate to emulate Punjab by returning the BJP to power and "root out Congress from the state and the Centre".

"The Congress has qualified for entry in 'guiness book of world record' for indulging in massive corruption", he said sarcastically.

Badal went nostelgic while referring to late Hari Naraian Saini, who represented Nalagarh for three terms, and said "don't repeat the mistake of by-election, caused by death of Saini, by voting for Congress and make BJP victorious this time".

Referring to various scams, Badal said the acts of omission and commission of the UPA regime has resulted in financial loss running into crores which could be utilised for the development of the country.

Charging the Congress with failing to address the problems of rising prices and unemployment, Badal exhorted people of Himachal to follow Punjab and give a decisive verdict.

"Himachal has made all round progress under BJP government and benefitted every section of the society like farmers, horticulturists, labourers, traders and industrialists," he said.

He said total rejection of Congress in Punjab for second time was a clear index of people's strong resentment against graft, steep price hike and anger of youth who had been bitterly betrayed by the Congress.

Punjab CM hailed the BJP's promise of distributing free "induction stoves" to reuce the burden due to capping of LPG cylinders, and said that Punjab would also explore the feasibility of adopting this scheme.
