17 trapped in China coal mine after explosion

Seventeen people were today trapped in a coal mine in northeast China after an explosion.
The incident took place in Hegang City in Heilongjiang Province where efforts were on to rescue them, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Fifty people were working under the shaft when the explosion took place.
Thirty-three managed to escape after the accident.
