The girl, who lives with her married sister in the village, in a complaint filed with police, alleged that a youth, Praveen, from their neighbourhood used to tease her and on April 16, he came to their house on the pretext of playing with her sister's child, dragged her inside in a room and raped her.
She alleged that the accused warned her of dire consequences if she told about the incident to anyone.
After keeping mum for some days, the victim narrated the incident to her sister following which a case was registered against the accused yesterday under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
