The mishap took place near Moradabad village when the bus on its way to Kochak from Sasaram lost control and overturned while trying to overtake a vehicle, said the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Alok Kumar Ranjan.
Eighteen passengers were injured in the mishap, the SDPO said adding the injured persons have been admitted to Sadar hospital and private clinics for treatment.
The bus has been impounded even as its driver escaped from the spot, Ranjan said.
