"Nineteen people have been arrested in Jammu region today (in connection with protests and violence in Jammu and Kishtwar districts)," Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar told reporters tonight.
"The arrested persons will go through rule of law--and those found innocents would be released," the IGP said.
With today's arrests, a total of 141 people have been taken into custody till now in connection with the incidents.
It many be recalled that Principal Secretary (Home), Suresh Kumar told reporters last night that as many as 111 people have been arrested in Jammu during the past few days.
"11 persons have been arrested in Kishtwar district for their involvement in communal clashes during past two days," Kumar said.
He said a list has been made and culprits identified and the arrests would continue in Kishtwar.
